GYM and GOALS
Most people go to the gym because
It is fashionable and cool
imitating their friends that go there
Only very few people go there with a tangible intention that can be monitored and evaluated at the end of it.
When you observe many people that go to the gym, they get into the gym and begin touching anything in their view or lifting some weights because they saw someone lifting it.
They have no listed plan nor goal and this is a recipe for procrastination, disinterest and absolute failure.
Below are my views why we go to the gym
To lose weight and achieve an reasonable BMI.
To remain absolutely fit, strong and be healthy.
To transition from skinny or lean, to bulkier and stronger with better body structure.
Once you identify your goal, you can now harness your resources, your time and your mindset to fit to the specific goal.
This goal can be broken down into smaller monthly goals, which then can be subdivided into weekly goals and then further daily goals.
For instance:
" In six months, I want to be stronger by lifting 60 kgs bench press"
therefore at the end of each month, I should lift 10 kg
Every week I should be lifting about 3 kgs or more
Write this down somewhere you can see always and focus on it.
This is just an example.
Once you have your goals, then create a SMART plan and stick to the plan.
Be consistent disciplined and be determined.
Never ever compromise nor allow room for any form of distractions whatsoever. They will hinder your momentum.
Relatives and friends might mock you, they do this because they want to pull you down but your determination will keep you going.
Even while hitting the gym, ensure you eat right.
Cheers
