In this blog you will read that we go to Chamba to meet our friend. It is peak winter in the entire Himalayas and four of us drive 650 km by car to reach Bharmour where dangerous roads and bitter cold test us.
One of our friends has been living in Bharmour for the past several months and since then he has been telling us that all of you should come here to meet me and visit here. Bharmour is famous for Manimahesh Kailash and remains almost closed in winters. In winter, the local people also go down towards Chamba.
We leave the car around 5 in the morning. We are total 4 people who are going to visit Himachal Pradesh. At 9 o'clock we take a stop where we all eat potato parathas with hot tea, at 12 o'clock we get the fuel tank of the car filled and by 2 o'clock in the afternoon we leave Punjab and enter the state border of Himachal Pradesh.
We stop and have lunch, we eat pulses, mix veg and roti in lunch. The people of Bharmour tell their friend that the bus is 60 km away from you, so keep preparing dinner.
By now the sun has set and the cold has increased. Soon we cross Chamba and reach Bharmour where the height is 2100 meters. Our friend comes to pick us all up at the parking lot. And soon we go to his house which was quite warm inside.
Late at night we talk a lot about our travels and our work. Next morning we all go to visit Kugati. Due to snow and land slide on the way, we could not reach Kugti village. While coming back we all enjoy the views. We see the holy mountain Manimahesh Kailash, seeing which everyone considers himself fortunate.
Coming back we spend the night at a friend's house. Can't move around much because there is a lot of snow all around. In the morning we go to Chamba where the Khajjiars roam. Khajjiar is a ground built by the British where there is a huge grass field. Talking about here, it is located in the middle of the pine forest, there are some hotels nearby where tourists can stay, there is a lake in the middle of the ground, there is also a primary school in the ground. Overall the place is very beautiful and the snow covered Dhauladhar mountain range is also visible from here.
We click a lot of photos while roaming here. After noon we leave for Beed where we do trekking to Hanumangarh. On the way back we get to see beautiful views of the Dhauladhar mountain range. The darshan of Manimahesh Kailash in the scenery, the beauty of the small villages of Chamba is made.
At last we leave after saying goodbye to our friend. This story will start a new journey till here next time.
