Knowing When to Say No
DANIEL 3:16-18
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you on this matter.
17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.
18 But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."
Many people have been cajoled and their destiny thwarted because they lack the basic instinct of when to say NO and stand by it. The reason for this isn't far fetched. They lack the basic knowledge of whom they are and what they stand for. Until you know that one thing that you can stand for, you will fall for everything that comes your way.
This is not about witchcraft or the powers from your father's/mother's house. As a Christian, we should have the basis of whom we are in Christ and not let the pressures and forces that govern the earth to control and decide for us unnecessarily. You don't have to be shy to say "NO" to whatever that does not glorify Christ. Be ready to defend that which you believe in Christ come good or bad.
Don't feel intimidated that all your friends are moving in one direction that you know for real is not in line which the gospel of Christ. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stood their ground by defying the king's order. They were ready to die for what they believe regardless of whether they lose their lives or not.
In you quest for success and acknowledgement, do you lower the standard of God just be move with the flow? Do you tell lies to avoid criticism. Do you still keep mute when evil acts are perpetrated by your colleagues and work? Though you didn't say YES to their acts , but again you wouldn't say NO either.
Raise to the calling of the light that you truly are and say No to occasions that isn't glorifying God. Say No to companies that add no value to gospel of Christ. Say No to the call to visit one baba or iya that lives at the outskirt of place you know not the source of their power. Say No to those lies you tell to cover up for evil doing of others.
PRAYER
Lord, please give me the grace to stand for you alone. The grace not to compromise my faith with the force that governs the earth. Grant me the grace to say No to things, people and events that does not glorify you in Jesus' name... (AMEN!)
The 'Hope Beckons' series started last year as a way to motivate as many as possible through the Holy Scripture(Bible) with prayers to accompany each series. Hope Beckons series aim at giving hope to everyone out there. It is the needed capsule to inspire us to greatness by standing on the promises of God.

This year, I intend to make the 'Hope Beckons' series more inspiring and cheerful by introducing: 'Hope Beckons - Share&Care. Hope Beckons- Share&Care will only feature every mid-week(Wednesday) as an act of kindness to my followers on the Hope Beckons series.
