It is Finished!
JOHN 19:28-30
28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."
29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips.
30 When He had received the drink, Jesus said; "It is finished." With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
The plan of redemption was completed this day several years ago. Jesus was crucified on the cross. He became the sacrificial lamb for our redemption to be perfected. The cost we could have been able to pay in our entire collective life time.
He was denied that we may be accepted. He was made a sinner for us to to be free. He was shamed that we may be of held in high esteem. He was pierced and crushed that we may have peace. He bore our burden that we may be trouble free. He was fed with wine vinegar that we may have a sweet taste of the things of life. He was forsaken that we may be justified by his blood. He died that we may live.
"It is finished." Beloved, as we reflect upon all that Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary, I ask that the significance of His death be accomplished in our lives. I pray that we don't have any reason or whatsoever to crucify Christ again a second time be it in our deeds or acts in Jesus' name... (AMEN!)
