He also proposed a great idea to find out what is stuck in the engine: remove the timing belt so we could move the crankshaft and the camshafts individually. By removing the belt, we were able to move the crankshaft even by hand, after removing the spark plugs first so the compression air from the pistons could escape. We slightly loosened the bearing caps and when we tried to move it, it finally turned. You could see that part of its material had melted onto the camshaft. I understand that the bearing caps are made of aluminum and the camshaft is made of steel, and the logical conclusion is that this happened due to the heat from not receiving lubrication. We drained the engine oil and it had approximately 3.5 liters, so the lack of oil was not the cause. >Cuando le quitamos todas las bancadas pudimos corroborarlo. Se podía notar que parte de su material se había fundido sobre el árbol de levas. Tengo entendido que las bancadas son de aluminio y el árbol de acero, y lo lógico es que al no recibir lubricación con el calor ocurrió esto. Honestly, I hope this is the reason and not that the oil pump got damaged, because I have heard that the ones sold as replacement parts have certain differences from the original ones and require modifications. We also agreed to take down the cylinder head, send it for a chemical bath, remove the impurities from the camshafts, and buy the bearing caps. >Se nos acabó el día, pero ahora quedamos con el plan de quitar el carter y revisar si el colector de aceite está obstruido. La verdad espero que este sea el motivo y no que la bomba de aceite se dañó, porque he escuchado que las que venden como repuestos tienen ciertas diferencias con las originales y hay que hacer modificaciones.
