Here's another set of color studies I've made recently. I really admire abstract painters and how they are able to put emotions in their paintings with just colors and random forms. Painting without a plan sounds quite daunting but they are a nice cathartic activity. :D
For this one, I was thinking of a big "main character" color and with others around it. I generated a palette from Color Hunt and used those colors. This activity let's me practice my color mixing skills, which is another fun (and quite frustrating) activity in itself lol.
I love how these color combos look very good together and if I pick random colors from my head, I would still go back to my comfort pink colors. This is why it's also very important (for me at least) to have a color wheel on the wall so it's easier to see them and the possible combinations than just imagining it.
I don't think I've used this color combo in my art yet but I would love to in the future. :D
This one reminds me of an amethyst cave haha. I was just following my brushstrokes and some forms eventually came and reminded me of something. I think it's a really good example of colors looking lighter or more vivid when beside something darker and less saturated.
Like many other works I did, I didn't like it at first but it eventually became "beautiful" once I added some more tiny colors and stuff.
Here we go again with what seems like my favorite color palette haha (but better!). I experimented on the warm and cool colors as well tho in abstract it's not really something you'd think about (as opposed to painting a landscape).
And this one is quite meh for me. I tried to have a main portrait form but changed my mind. The colors are nice though, and the most important part is I learned to make the color to look more saturated.
Mine is the first one. That shade of green combined with a dark mossy green (almost black) looks really "professional" to me. XD It looks disciplined, in a way that the artist just didn't spam the canvas with vivid colors... because that's something I do. :D
