Damn, it's been a month since my last prompt drawing and I didn't even notice it has been that long. I've been doing other things and have forgotten to do this, losing my streak in the prompt.
I haven't been not drawing though cos I was, but just two different projects so the sketching thing went off the priority list. Anyway...
The next prompt is a self portrait which is not that exciting for me as I've been drawing self-portraits ever since I learned how to do portraits lol.
I did a drawing a few weeks ago for the prompt but I wasn't satisfied although this one is also cute as a sketch lol. I just didn't think it's worth writing a whole post about... so I did another self portrait. :D
I'm getting really bored of the realistic look of my portraits and I wanted to stylize it this time. I took one of my photos as a reference and started drawing this.
I had this Crybabiez series back in 2021 and I enjoyed making this as well. I tend to switch styles from time to time, like switching from being dark-realistic to being cute depends on my state of being I guess. The figures are mostly black and white and sometimes all-black cos I think that's how I best describe myself lol.
After using the Sakura Koi coloring brush pens, I then used Prismacolor colored pencils on top. They're a really good combination and you can also get the details you want with the pencils that you can't do with the markers.
Aanddd here's how it looks like once it's done. The colored pencils were really a nice addition to the piece and it gave it a lot of details. I enjoyed doing this and it was nice to just draw with colors without thinking too much about how it will look like in the end.
