Living in Long Beach, Ca and seeing the vast number of changes throughout the city over the past three years, had had an effect on a number of people close to me. Heck, it has even affected me personally. As I write this post, I am sad yet excited at the same time. Sad, because I will be leaving this beautiful city and excited , because I will begin a new chapter in my life.

With the cost of living skyrocketing all over Los Angeles county and surrounding areas, I started to wonder what other cities were going through a major overhaul?

I wasn't surprised that this was happening, in fact gentrification is nothing new. I just wish the that city officials would work with these communities to start a beautification project to build the community up, not replace it. What I mean by this is that, part of what makes a city like Long Beach and other cites great is the mom and pop. These unique little businesses that help the city thrive, and gives it that unique charm. All of the wonderful festivals and free concerts throughout the year. Now all of these cookie cutter main stream businesses have started taking over. Big developers are buying up whole building, remodeling and jacking the rental rates way up! I'm disheartened by all of this. I know that change is inevitable, still doesn't make it any easier. So, with that, here is a photo map of the top ten cities that are gentrifying the fastest.

I would love ❤️ to hear some thoughts on this subject. Are any of you feeling the affects of the rising cost of living, versus the actual wage?
