One of the things I look forward now that I am busy with work is a chance to go on staycations with my friends. Last weekend, I had a two days and one night staycation at La Mer Beach Resort, San Remigio,Cebu, Philippines. The beach resort is located in the heart of San Remigio, in the northernmost part of Cebu Province.
We booked a room for two which was ₱2,500 per night and ₱600.00 per head for children above ten years of age. The check in time was two o'clock in the afternoon but we arrived at around six which was four hours late. But my friend and her son, which are our company, came here on time.
This was such a random plan and it really came to life. Spontaneous plans really make out it's way rather than planning for it over a long time and not being able to achieve it. That is what I love most about spontaneous trips. Unplanned, but are a huge success.
Have you noticed that when you plan it for such a long time, chances are it really won't happen, but when the plans are spontaneous, it normally goes well as planned.
When we arrived at La Mer Beach Resort, we then immediately went to the pool area. My son and my friend's son was so excited to take a dip on the cold water. But first, we went to the restaurant to order our food and drinks.
I love that La Mer Beach Resort has an area where we can dine in just in front of the pool area, so that we can just have our meals while looking over our children who goes swimming.
This is the photo of the kids in La Mer's Restaurant, we chose the foods they wanted and us, parents, had the idea of having an happy hour ourselves.
As parents, especially as working parents, it is really draining sometimes when we get bombarded by so much work and responsibilities. That is why, every once in a while, it is really important to get our minds off work and simply take the time to relax.
While waiting for our order, my son, Jacob really could not help it but take a dip. He took a shower first then dipped into the pool. It was so cold since it was around seven in the evening already. Look at how the lights perfectly matched the pool's color. The pool area is open until 9:00 pm only.

Frozen strawberry margaritas for the mothers. We got ourselves some strawberry margaritas for our happy hour. It tasted so good.
The foods we ordered tasted so good and it indeed satisfied our hunger. The children loved their foods and after they ate, they then went back to swimming.

This friend of mine has been my friends for over the last fifteen years. We have been friends since our younger days when we still both did not had sons, and up until now, we remained friends and we get along and catch with each other up every once in a while.
It is a nice feeling have a long-term friend you have shared a lot of memories with. We have shared a lot of laughter and sorrow. We have been there for each other since day one.
After the children got tired from night swimming, at around 8:45 pm, we then went up to our room for the children to sleep.
When the children slept, we drank a few bottles of vodka.
It has been a couple of months since we last caught up and it is so good to be reunited. We talked about so much and stayed up until 3am.
Fast forward til the next day, we got up early for the free breakfast. This is a view from the terrace in our room.
It was a typical Filipino breakfast. We had tocino and egg with rice and free hot choco or coffee. It was a normal Filipino meal. It tasted good.
After we ate breakfast, the children went swimming again before our check out time at 12:00noon. The pool area opens at 9:00am.
We then went home at exactly 12:00 noon which is the resort's check out time. It was such a fun experience and I am looking forward for more.
