As the proverb goes by, "All work makes Jack a dull boy", we must never forget to have a work-balance lifestyle. It doesn't make justice too just focus merely on work. We all need some days to relax our minds a bit.

My Team's Post-Shift Eat Out

It is the thirty first of August and it is the end of our company's fiscal year, and what better way to say goodbye and welcome another fiscal year but a pizza party? We had a celebratory pizza dinner after our shift and we were all stuffed.

After we ate dinner with my workmates, we decided to run some errands and buy some viand at the market. We all thought of going to the famous Pasil Fish Market. It is located in Pasil, Cebu City. The Pasil Fish Market is home to fish suppliers in Cebu City. It is where you can find the cheapest fishes and seafoods.

E-Bikes at Cebu City, Philippines

Cebu City has a wide-range of public utility vehicles such as buses, taxis, jeepneys, and here they are, the newest addition, the e-bicycles. From my workplace, we rode a jeepney all the way to Carbon Public Market and from Carbon Public Market, we rode an e-bike all the way to Pasil Fish Port. It is a five to ten minute ride with a twenty peso fare.

The Pasil Fish Market

The market is called "The Pasil Fish Market" because literally the market is filled with so much fishes and seafoods. You will not see any other products here. No vegetables, no chicken, no beef, no pork. Purely fishes and seafoods. A paradise to all seafood lovers.

These are just some of the bountiful finds you will see at the Pasil Fish Market. Everytime I visit the market, it never fails to amaze me. I have seen different fishes of different colors and sizes, underwater creatures that I have never seen before. It just amazes me so much how our sea has such bountiful harvest.

Exotic Fish Filled With Thorns

This fish is known in the Cebuano language as the Tagutungan . Fish vendors use instruments such as pliers to take out the thorns of this fish. I have tasted this fish prepared in several dishes a lot of times. The best recipe for this fish is to mix it with coconut milk. It simply is the best. The fish may look a bit odd, but trust me, it tastes so good.

Gigantic Sea Creatures

It may not seem huge as by the angle of the photo I have taken, but in real life, these fishes are sized like a three year old child. These fishes are gigantic! I can really say the sea will really amaze us. I cannot believe we have these types of creatures. These are all huge.

Busy People Everywhere

Pasil Fish Market is the top home of suppliers of fishes and seafoods in Cebu City. The fish you'll see in your local market pricing two hundred fifty per kilo is just a hundred and seventy five per kilo when bought at the Pasil Fish Market. What a huge price difference. That's why you will see fish vendors and businessmen allover. They are buying fishes at a wholesale price.
It then will lower the prices much more.

What We Bought at The Pasil Fish Market

We then saw this little squids that in our Cebuano language we call "lumayagan". We bought one kilo for one hundred pesos or two dollars. It is very cheap and worth the price. We then went home and cooked our squid. What a productive day indeed!
