Although I wouldn't say it right now, it really is the time of year when I could normally be online less and less. Simply because the weather is TOO good to stay inside my PC. I have to work outside in the garden, the dogs want to be outside… play with balls, play with me, or just relax in the sun. And all those things, however trivial they may seem… all those things must of course continue as usual. Often my focus in the evenings is so much less that no decent blog comes out of my fingers.
Usually in the evenings I just stare aimlessly at my screen and that is actually more of a time to engage with others on Hive in all the communities. And unfortunately that often falls short because I also have to do other things in the evening hours that I did not get around to during the day. And because I have not made a blog during the day, I often feel pressure to create that blog in the evening. I know… it's not an obligation to blog, but it's what I love to do!
A solution had to be found for this. And I first had it in my head that I really should buy such a coveted iPad for that. But luckily I was able to talk that out of my mind. Because let's be honest, no matter how nice an iPad is… it really wouldn't be the most convenient for me! That iPad should come with a keyboard, I would have to buy the apple pencil… and spend more than 1000 euros just because I want to blog? Of course, that makes no sense at all. That would take an awful long time before I could earn that back ... And especially if this downtrend continues, and we end up in a bear market again.
Let's hope this isn't going to happen for the time being, but it doesn't look very good. And then I seriously wonder why don't all people stop provoking Mr. Musk. Just don't give him that power over the market. Yes he has trillions of dollars, but still it's ONE man. No more and no less. It is the great mass that GIVES him this power! And by continuing to provoke him while he himself has already said that Tesla has not sold bitcoins, well… then you are not doing that great as a mass. What kind of signal is being issued here to the rest of the world? That crypto is being used by a bunch of kids with the mind of a two-year-old?
Whatever… I never thought I'd ever say it. But these days, crypto just makes me depressed, I feel disappointed in the community and I feel bad about the behavior of the people on Twitter. Come on, just use your common sense what is supposed to be in your upstairs room somewhere!
And then go back to what I started this blog for. I enjoy typing this rant on my PC. Nice and familiar in the windows environment where I do most of the work. But I could also have chosen to relax on the couch with a dog warm against me and my new Chromebook on my lap!
Yes, a Chromebook! Once I decided that I didn't need an iPad at all, I was able to shop around for other solutions. What about a laptop? Now I like the tablet idea so it should be a 2 in 1 laptop. And they are also quite pricey in a windows version, but it became more interesting. And then I came across the Chromebooks. And this certainly included all the more affordable options. With a folding screen so that I can also use it as a tablet ... And no, I don't have Windows, not the possibility to use Photoshop and all other things that I'm used to. But there are other possibilities… and for where I mainly want to use the Chromebook for, it's just fine that I don't have all the other things.
Blogging and occasionally editing a photo for a blog ... the Chromebook is perfectly capable of that!
My partner was of the opinion that I should choose a slightly more luxurious version of at least 14 inches, and that I should also choose a good processor. Well, long story short. In the end I made the decision and opted for an HP Chromebook. And so it was delivered here at home last Saturday.
That was a nice surprise after the bad night we had previously experienced by the Latvian man who was so afraid that he would be killed.
A last update on that is that I really don't know where he is now, it doesn't matter. Today we received a message from him in which he thanked us for the help and that there will always be a place for us in his prayers. He really believes we saved his life. Whether it´s the truth or just in his mind? Who knows… It will forever remain a mystery. But we did appreciate it very much that he sent a message to thank us for the help and thus also indicated that he is somewhere safe.
In any case, I'm going to shut down the PC and open my Chromebook… so that I can get warm under the blankets. I bought the Chromebook to sit out in the warm sun in the summer and write my blogs, but now no one can stop me from using it under the warm blankets. After all, heat is heat, isn't it? And unfortunately it is still everything here, except a really warm summer!
