I am certainly not a politician, but as far as I can judge the sanctions are mainly bouncing back on Europe, making life here unaffordable for many people. Citizens are being hit hard and the government is shouting that they can't do anything. Large multinationals benefit from the price increases because they can maintain their profits ... and where the sanctions should be felt? No idea if it's felt there too...
