Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!
Where I wrote about that monitor problem last week, that has been resolved after today. I've thought about it for a long time, but buying an iMac just isn't an option right now. So it had to be a new monitor anyway. Because that iMac will remain in the back of my mind, I thought it was a shame to spend a lot of money for a monitor, but a good monitor is also important. After all, the PC has become the way for me to earn money (crypto). So we had to get a new monitor. Rather yesterday than today.
Feeling bored
Fortunately, my situation at the moment is such that I could order a new monitor without any problems, only it remained a point of 'pain' in my opinion. Until I lay in bed late last night with my laptop. I had to wait to compound my EMP Detonator, and I was feeling bored.
I didn't feel much like chatting on discord to pass the time, browsing blogs in the middle of the night was no longer my cup of tea. And well ... when I'm bored, I sometimes want to give in to some impulses. In this case, for me, that meant depositing $15 BNB into my Betfury account. When that arrived in my account, I went to see which game I was going to play. I always like the look of the slots, and I've actually never lost much there. Two reasons for that, firstly because I never play with a lot of money there. I'm just playing for fun, and $15 max is what I want to lose. If like me, you play for fun, and you only make low bets between 20 and 30 cents at most ... then you can play for quite a while with just $15.
Luck was on my side
Yesterday, however, I definitely had the luck on my sideI found a so-called Megaways slot machine and decided to try it. Everything set up the way I wanted it, with a 0.20 cent bet. I click the button and that thing starts spinning, and flips! I immediately got 3 dollars and 25 free spins. That's where the fun started... with every spin I saw the amount increase and when the 25 free spins were done I had won over $100. Of course, I won't let that stand, and even I am not crazy enough to want to lose it either. So I took my full winnings, and then I had $14.80 again to play. I hesitated for a moment and that monitor played through my head. This would be a nice amount of money to use. But I was still bored and decided that $14.80 wouldn't make a difference... And who knows, maybe I could win even more.
Oh yeah, here we go again!
I looked further at the different Megaways slot machines and there were more, so I decided to try another one. Set it to a 20 cent bet, and get spinning. Now of course you expect me to lose that $14.80 in the end, huh? Think again because the opposite is true. After about five spins, I got a bonus game here with a 40x multiplier, which eventually led to another $75. Of course I transferred that to my metamask again and this time I decided I'd take it all. I didn't dare to try a third time. Luck in the game is nice, but you should never defy it, right? With over $200 won, I knew it was time to quit. And even I'm not crazy enough to go on there. I was going to do something completely different and that was swap the BNB I won to BUSD and deposit that money into my crypto.com debit card. I could use that to pay for my new monitor that would be delivered today! Et voila!
Gardening
So while I was waiting for the monitor to be delivered, it was just a shame to sit still. The weather is really showing its best side this fall. We are actually experiencing a real Indian Summer here in the Netherlands. (And that's a good thing too with the exorbitantly high energy prices). But while we can enjoy a pleasant temperature and sun, nature does not let itself be fooled and autumn can be seen in all color and splendor. But also in the dense foliage that covered our front yard.
Starting in good spirits
Having two large chestnut trees in your front yard has pros and cons. And I had to face one of those drawbacks again today. And that is raking the fallen chestnuts and leaves off our grass. It's not a small front yard that I have to rake, so I went out in good spirits. The dogs then stay behind the gate and I go to the front yard. With the same good cheer I started raking, collecting the leaves every so often and throwing them in the compost bin. Did you know that such a fallen leaf really makes beautiful compost? On my way to the compost bin, I found this beautiful blooming chrysanthemum! They are so gorgeous, I just had to stop and take a picture ...
Ouch!
After raking for an hour and a half, I suddenly felt something 'pop' in my lower back and at the same time I could hardly move without almost screaming in pain. Yes, I probably had my body in the wrong position, but anyway ... that resulted in a problem. With great difficulty I managed to get myself up again and with equal effort I was able to walk to the gate. To the dogs and back inside with the dogs. Once inside, I sat down and everything went just as difficult. And the pain... my god! I normally never have issues with my back, but now I know how someone feels who always has issues with their back. Seriously, you don't realize how much you're using your back until it hurts.
The raking adventure was really over for today.
Get moving again
But that doesn't mean I wouldn't do anything. Of course not. Later I also had to install a monitor. So somehow I had to get myself moving again. Fortunately, that all worked out again, and I installed the monitor once it was delivered.
And hence the title ... I Can See Clearly Now!
What a difference! Really unbelievable. I didn't order the most expensive monitor I could find. On the contrary. Rather, it was one of the cheapest I could find that still met my requirements. But that really makes a big difference. You don't know until you see the difference. But I can honestly say that I've never been able to get the most out of my photos in recent years, because my old monitor really showed the colors so much worse. And I never noticed until I turned on this new monitor…
It just might provide new motivation for photography.
