We are already in the early stages of a global civil war, and the battlefields are in our social circles, and our minds, with tiny little skirmishes playing out inside each of our heads in everything we do. We are all victims of, and increasingly footsoldiers in, an informational and cultural war. This may be nothing new, but the technology of information warfare is getting more advanced and more psychologically destructive, and we are all going to be casualties. The cost of this war is going to be enormous. We face an epistemological disaster which will produce mass confusion, and, quite literally, mass insanity. It is already doing so.

Dialogue is the only tolerable way forward. And the first step is to let loose the voices in your own head.
