As a kid, I was a huge StarFox fan, and I was furious when I got my hands on an N64 years later and the game was too different from the original :(. Doom 64, however, still holds its own. Not in the same vein as Doom 1 & 2, but the fact that you can play the old game without knowing it speaks volumes about it. Granted, it's an FPS, so it was easy, but it stands out from the competition.
We live in wonderful times when we can slowly tinker with the hardware and try to squeeze more out of it than the original creators expected.
