Exactly. I remember from my youth, boomers back then spouting utter nonsense about people ruining their lives online. With a few exceptions, you don't want to do that because... And there were various reasons. You rightly pointed out that, like the internet and electricity, it will impact literally our entire lives, but instead of focusing solely on the drawbacks, let's consider the advantages.
The only major drawback of AI is (I'm leaving out the layoffs, as they are the result of the stupidity of companies and corporations, not AI itself) that it will accelerate the process of entering the next stage of humanity. Old machines were simple, and you can't grasp AI and technology beyond a certain point if your IQ is too low. It's exactly the same with advanced mathematics or basketball – if you're 180 cm tall, sorry, but you won't play in the NBA.
