I haven't even started watching for a simple reason – even though, like you, I like the actor, I don't like retcons. And like everyone else, I have my own preferences and my own dislikes, but in the case of SW, I haven't been a fan for a long time, and it just bothers me. According to the old movie, this was their first meeting (A New Hope) after Anakin was turned into a skewer. Of course, it could be worked around; some clever writer could have crafted the plot that way, but then I read the reviews and asked my friends who'd seen it – apparently, it's not worth it.
