It's been a few months since I talked about the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design with the HK10 and the Mulholland projects. Always perfect 911 restorations by this Californian company.
It's the first time, I see one an example auctioned, this stunning 1993 Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer will heading to auction through RM Sotheby's in Abu-Dhabi next weekend. Estimation $US 800,000...
History of the Porsche 911 by Singer
The Porsche 911 by Singer, founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, former singer for the rock band Catherine Wheel and Porsche 911 fan, are always stunning, close to perfection.
This 1993 Porsche 911 was the Fiona Commission project done in 2016. Since its creation, Singer has rebuilt more than 100 Porsche and generally the customers don't resell them and I understand them :-)
"Hollywood is a pretty tough audience to impress, and it just proved to me that the fascination that I had for the 911 went deeper than just nerds like me." - Rob Dickinson, founder of Singer Vehicle Design (Fortune
Specification
This Porsche 911 has a 4.0-litre flat six-cylinder engine mated to a G50 five-speed manual transmission producing 390 hp. It can reach the 100kmh in just 3.3 seconds (and 160 kmh in 8.2 seconds).
But what I like most is the design, exterior and especially interior. This model was finished in midnight blue over cognac leather interior. Beautiful... And the dashboard with this instruments that replicate those in 1964–1967 models... I love the wooden 917-style gearshift knob.
