What are the main causes of divorce in marriages today?

In the World of today, marriage which is supposed to be a life affair has been brought down to a simple agreement that can be broken at anytime. The rate of divorce is alarming especially in the developed worlds. The united states of America is always my focal point and when i see the increasing numbers there, all i can ask myself is what is causing this?
