So today being the 14th October was a national holiday here in Canada. It is thanksgiving and it is my first. Thanksgiving is not a holiday we have back home so today was my first and it was a good first experience I must say. An aunt invited me over to her place to spend time with the family and I accepted the invite. I mean, who will want to spend thanksgiving all alone right? It was really cold outside but I deliberately left my jacket behind and I paid for ìt.
I had to wait for a few minutes in the cold before the bus finally came. I was so glad when I finally reached her place and went straight into the house after her husband opened up the door. They are such a lovely people and we had a great meal together as one big happy family. We talked and laughed as we ate and cracked a few jokes too. There was so much food and I ate to my complete satisfaction. I will say I could hardly move myself after all that food and my aunt insists that I will have to carry some more food when I am leaving.
She is a great one isn't she? If this is what thanksgiving is like, then I want to have thanksgiving every month hahahhaha. It was really fun and I had a great time in the company of some great people. The only issue is, midterm exams commences tomorrow. After a sweet holiday, one has to report to school the next day and face exams. What a way to end a nice meal right? Well, I guess there is nothing I can do about it. All i want to do now is sleep but I just can't. That is if I want good grades in my courses. In all, it's been a great day and I appreciate God for that.
