It's not about "who" to side with.

What matters is what is actually true and what is false, and furthermore, how we defend those truths and attack those falsities. It has always been possible to be kind to people who are wrong, just as it is possible to be critical of those who are right.

But then, I suppose there are some who are deliberately wicked towards truth, and coddling of falsities. I don't think I'd tolerate that for even a second.
