Imagine the serpent walking with four legs in the Gardan of Eden, how beautiful it would have being.
But he lost those pretty smallish fore and hind limbs as a result of a curse.
secondly, serpents were one of the friendly and gentle animals that God created but a curse spoken by God brought an enmity between man and the serpent.
But the serpent brought self destruction upon himself due to his own behaviour.
Gen 3:1
"The serpent was the shrewdest(sharpest) of all the wild animals the Lord God had made".
There were a lot of wild animals in the Garden of Eden but it was the serpent that the bible described as shrewdest or subtle or wisest.
In order words, the serpent considered himself as the smartest, cleverest and wisest.
These were the strengths and inner talents of the serpent
But the serpent misused these abilities and it destroyed him by invoking God's wrath.
The mentality of the serpent opened the door for Satan to use him to cause eternal chaos in the world.
Because the serpent saw himself as the wisest and most clever of all the wild animals, he was also the only creature on earth to be cursed.
Satan is a manipulator, and he always manipulates people who consider themselves to be special, wise, all- knowing than their peers.
When satan uses your strengths and abilities to manipulate you, the end is always destruction.
God did not give you the gifts to kill you but He gave it to you to help others.
God never cursed any of the things He created, including human beings except the serpent and this is because the serpent saw himself as wise, clever and sharp than the others.
In Life, there are those who are just like the serpent.
They consider themselves to be wise or clever than anybody else. They are the ones who know- it -all and /or are more knowledgable than their colleagues.
They only consider their feelings, pains and what will come to them alone whiles ignoring or sabotaging others.
They are at work places, in relationships, marriage, friendships and family.
But these mentality of others brings severe consequences, just as it happened to the serpent.
Gen 3:14
"Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all animals............., you will crawl on your belly".
The serpent 's way of thinking made him to do what was forbidden in the eyes of God and as a result lost two things in his life
He LOST HIS LEGS
The serpent was not a crawling reptile in the beginning of creation but a walking one with legs (four, I guess) but as result of satan's manipulations of his cleverness, he lost one of his most valuable body parts- Legs.
When God gives us a gift or blesses us, He wants us to use them to develop, help and improve the lives others, not to boast or sabotage those who do not have.
When you consider yourself to be more valuable than others because of what you can do best, you might end up losing the important thing that would have helped you move forward in the future.
ENMITY BETWEEN OTHERS
Gen 3:15
"And I will cause hostility between you and the woman".
As a result of his behaviour, God caused hostility between the serpent and the woman.
Friends become enemies as a result of this kind of thinking.
It hurts to treat others less and undervalued.
It leads to separation as it happened in the garden.
People of this mind set are easily
corrupted by satan and he uses them as a weapon to destroy good things and kill other peoples dreams.
MY ADVICE
Dear friend, don't be a weapon of destruction for the enemy to use this week.
Don't use what distinguishes you from others to cheat, deceive or intimidate them.
And don't let how clever, knowledgeable, smart and wise you are be your downfall today.
Humble yourself at all times, think about the feelings and welfare of others and put yourself in somebody's shoes.
Tolerate others weaknesses and embrace their strengths.
Above all never see yourself as superior, important and valuable than others.
DON'T ALWAYS BE TOO WISE!!!!
