According to tradition, it has been accepted that there are three Kings coming from the East; this number is based on the fact that according to the Gospel of Matthew (Mt. 2, 1-23) three gifts are mentioned: gold, frankincense and myrrh, which these Kings carried as a gift to the King of Kings, the Child Jesus, who was born in Bethlehem. In the Gospel, it is mentioned that "some wise men followed a bright star", which would guide them to the birthplace of the Child God. Some versions of popular culture relate that they come on horses, others tell us that they are camels. In addition, there are certain stories, attached to the knowledge and values of the Middle Ages when these traditions began, that tell of their arrival at the village of Bethlehem near Jerusalem, where each King is representative of the known "races" (Caucasian, yellow and Negroid) of the continents credited for that time (since America had not yet been discovered):
Following these customs, our Parish Jesus Nazarene, prepared a "living manger", emulating the popular scene of the arrival of the Magi to the lap of the Epiphany of the Lord.
Today we celebrated the Eucharist with great enthusiasm, enjoying the staging of the beautiful story of the birth of the Child Jesus with the visit of the three wise men. At the end, the children were offered small gifts and treats for the festive enjoyment of the day.
De acuerdo a la tradición, se ha aceptado que son tres los Reyes procedentes del oriente; esta cantidad está fundada en que según el Evangelio de Mateo (Mt. 2, 1-23) se mencionan tres regalos: oro, incienso y mirra; que portaban estos Reyes para obsequiar al Rey de Reyes, el Niño Jesús, el cual había nacido en Belén. En el Evangelio, se menciona que “unos magos siguieron una brillante estrella”, la cual los guiaría hasta el lugar de nacimiento del Niño Dios. Algunas versiones de la cultura popular relatan que vienen en caballos, otras nos dicen que son camellos. Además, existen ciertos cuentos, apegados al conocimiento y valores de la edad media cuando se comenzaron estas tradiciones; que nos hablan de su llegada a la aldea de Belén cerca de Jerusalén, en donde cada Rey es representativo en las “razas” conocidas (caucásica, amarilla y negroide) de los continentes acreditados para aquella época (ya que aún no se había descubierto América):
Siguiendo estas costumbres, nuestra Parroquia Jesús Nazareno, preparó un “pesebre viviente”, emulando la popular escena de la llegada de los Reyes Magos al regazo de la Epifanía del Señor.
Hoy celebramos la Eucaristía con buen entusiasmo, disfrutando además, de la puesta en escena de la hermosa historia del nacimiento del Niño Jesús con la visita de los tres Reyes Magos. En donde al terminar, se les ofreció a los infantes pequeños obsequios y golosinas para el disfrute festivo del día.
