Things in the menoverse or helpieverse

Had our usual meeting at 10pm UTC (5 pm EDT)! Nobody to record, but a recorder to take some notes!

@meno had a bit of a health setback but is feeling better, enough to run the meeting!

Somewhere someone is preparing for freezing rain... and looking forward to macro photos!

What did we talk about?

Well, first we talked about looking at the recent pump in crypto prices.

How Bitcoin used to be associated with anonymity, but now it's getting much easier for institutions to track everything that happens.

Talked briefly about Mimblewimble-- a protocol for restoring privacy on BTC. In some sense, it erases the 'history of the token'... in that can prove something happened without actually storing what hapepned.

LTC announced it was implementing it... bullish signal.

Then came the shills!

First up! A story about Well's Fargo going down momentarily... decentralization is key, no central point of failure.

Someone brought up a tinfoil hat theory about military raid of wells fargo ;)

Then an idea... Helpie to go and raid fort knox... and then... something... yeah nevermind.

Discussed subjectivity of IQ tests. IQ tests irrelevant-- and one way in which that is so-- can't change one's IQ... what is it really measuring... good post, check it out...

Scattered discussion... Problems so dynamic, can't be measured by a single test. Emotional intelligence is just as important, for example.

Someone broguht up that IQ tests have good predictive capabilities, though more accurate at low end, and not so much telling at the high end of IQ scale.

What is the point of super high IQ if you can't use it?

A good post in general, someone that he's glad to see coming out of his shell, and opening up, sharing something personal and generating good discussion.

And speaking of that... Asking a "weird" question:

How do people feel about being personal on the blockchain?

Varying opinions:

• Balance between sharing and doxxing self-- sometimes leads to unwanted conversations...
• Talk about whatever! Don't care what people think.
• Open book. Let's other people open up as well.
• "I think if you never share anything personal about yourself, it's impossible for anyone to feel any kind of deep connection to you."
• Can share personal aspects without doxxing.
• Godo to get to know the 'essence' of someone.
• "We should have KYC for people's souls."
• Have a hard time sharing personal stuff... like to write things and then delete it later.

Artists way. Guidance for life structuring for inspiring for supporting creativity--- 'morning pages'. Idea is write 3 pages unedited and the point is not to share it, just to dump ideas. online way to facilitate that.

It has a fun points system. to be active... wonder if it's a good to move it to be decentralized platform instead.

Poetry is a good way to get those thoughts out without being too detailed.. no one knows how personal you're actually being.. but you're still sharing and get that feeling of connecting with others who might be reading and relating..

Then we talked about... Tokens Tokens Tokens!

Since the announcement of the Steem Engine token system, everyone has been talking about issuing tokens on the Steem chain, and possibly attached to smart contracts as well.

Helpie foundation...

Many things amount to tokens tied to upvote as the easiest way to attach value, we've been talking about what a HELPIE community token could look like as well, and that's something for brainstorming.
