This is a rough log for how our Friday meeting went down. We started at 5 PM EST / 10 PM UTC, and had a good time catching up with the happenings of the Steemiverse.

A new dapp that looks very interesting, integrating social experience like Facebook, etc. Check-ins, geographical locations... very community oriented experience.

which is now live, which is a token and smart contract platform based on custom_json. Anyone can run a node that runs the contracts and keeps track of current state. There's no P2P consensus, relies on everyone interpreting the data in the same way.

which is a similar platform. The discussion raised that it seems to have a lot of cool things built in, like worker proposals, and communities. Aims to have decentralized community development from the get-go.

@meno raised question raised for @blewitt--- dealing with conflicts. Stemming from the state of steem with just so many arguments breaking out, and looking for perhaps a unique point of view from experience as a comic bookstore owner.

"Where people fail is when people let emotions take over, and people then get so flustered and lose it.

Everyone has their mind made up before hearing the other side of the argument... let people express and try to understand where they are coming from. Nobody wants that though. I'm right, you're wrong, that's it. We need to get back to understanding where people come from even if we disaggree with them."

@meno has a 3-point plan

1. Clearly state what they are stating (often times they think that you don't understand what you are saying)
2. Empathize deeper-- if there's something you can rescue from their position, state it. give some logical validity to it
3. Then state your position, jumping from the point where you are giving validity to it.
