This is for everyone who lost themselves in the process of loving someone.
It was a sad fact,
You wanted to face your phone,
Too much that you no longer see me.
There were also things you failed to see.
How tears glistened my eyes,
How my throat bobbed,
How I clenched my fist,
How I talk to much,
Just so you notice and see.
You failed to see everything,
The sadness behind every facade,
The longing behind short conversations,
The "I am ok" amongst "I feel like shit"
You failed to see how dull my skies are becoming,
You failed to see me hurting.
You rarely hold my hand,
Rarely talk,
Rarely do the things you once did when we first met.
I grew tired of understanding,
Grew tired of smiling.
Pretending to be happy was never an easy task.
Every argument buried in a snap,
Found its way back up,
It claws at my chest,
Broke my walls,
I no longer know now,
Could I recover from this?
Or will I succumb to the pain forever.
I lost myself,
A ridiculous statement indeed.
In the process of being someone you'll love,
I sold who I was.
I became flawless and perfect,
I became what you wanted.
So maybe I was a fool,
Maybe I was stupid.
Love is madness and I chose to be insane with you,
Love is madness,
Trust me when I say it's true,
No matter how hard things get,
You'll still be my home to come back to.
