Hello steemians,

yesterday on Saturday myself and my friend @mariossap agreed to visit mount Parnitha in Athens Greece for a hike. My friend knows the area very well since he has been training there for a long time now and it was a nice chance to visit the area and exercise myself a little bit. The time we arrived at the parking area to park the car was past five in the afternoon, so the time as well as the temperature were ideal for our trekking little adventure.

We thought to use the funicular to ascend at an elevation of 1055 meters on top of picturesque mount Parnitha instead of driving with the car, because the ride inside the funicular would simply be nicer. The funicular takes people to the Regency Casino and Hotel operating on the top of the mountain and from there my friend knows the hiking trail to reach "Mpafi" shelter where we were planning to reach and sit there for a little while to get a beverage and get some rest and then be on our way back.
