Two creators can discuss the same topic and share similar information, but their content does not always feel the same.

One important reason is personal experience.

Information can explain something, but personal experience can show how that information connects with real situations.

Here are some reasons why adding personal experience can make content more valuable.

1. It Makes Your Content More Authentic

When you share something you have personally experienced, your content can feel more natural and genuine.

Instead of simply repeating general information, you are sharing your own perspective.

You do not need to pretend to know everything. Being honest about what you have experienced can make your message more relatable.

2. It Adds Real-Life Context

Sometimes, an explanation sounds simple in theory but becomes more complicated in practice.

For example, a creator might explain how to grow a social media page. But sharing a real challenge they faced while managing their own page can help others understand what the process actually involves.

This gives the audience a clearer picture beyond general advice.

3. It Helps Your Content Stand Out

Many creators discuss similar subjects and use information that is already available online.

However, your personal experiences, observations, and lessons are not exactly the same as someone else's.

Even when the topic is common, your perspective can make the discussion different.

4. It Turns Mistakes into Learning Opportunities

Not every experience you share needs to be a success story.

Sometimes, a mistake teaches a lesson that a successful result cannot.

You can share what went wrong, what you misunderstood, and what you learned from the situation.

This can help other creators avoid similar mistakes and make better decisions.

5. It Builds a Connection with Your Audience

People may remember information, but they can also connect with the person and experience behind that information.

When creators share honest experiences, audiences get a better understanding of their journey.

That connection can develop gradually through consistent and genuine communication.

My Perspective

I believe personal experience is not just an extra detail added to a piece of content. It can be an important part of what makes that content unique.

However, sharing personal experience does not mean every post must become a personal story.

The goal is to include relevant experiences when they genuinely help explain the subject.

You do not need to present yourself as an expert in everything. Sometimes, sharing what you have learned along the way is valuable enough.

Information tells people what something is. Personal experience can show them what it looks like in real life.

Do you prefer content based on general information, personal experience, or a combination of both?
