It’s all so fucking vague sometimes I think I’m a liar. It’s like mistaking cayenne pepper for cinnamon in my oatmeal. Or like hearing La Llorona instead of coyotes when a sorrowful moan echos throughout the hills. I do that shit all the time. Neither one bothers me I’d just prefer a heads up. That inkling of doubt trickles down to the base of my skull. my head gets cotton candy insulation coated I can’t see and my breath becomes hot and saccharine stuffy. I blindly stumble around waiting for someone to cut me out. I can’t hold still when the snipping gets closer. I’m ashamed of the scratches on my face. my cocoon becomes denser with each attempt. I have to wait or I’ll suffocate.
