When I study computer network, I wonder the difference between GET method and POST method in HTTP.
Introduction
First of all, there is NOT decide when you must use GET method or POST method.
(Because I thought the time of use was decided. So I tried to find when I have to use that methods.)
What is difference?
- GET method
- only the HEADER part exists and the BODY part does not exist
- Send the data by using the HEADER part
- Data limit exist. because there is data length limit in the HEADER part
- POST method
- both the HEADER part and BODY part exist
- Send the data by using the BODY part
- Does not expose the data
| Type | GET method | POST method |
|---|---|---|
| Data Limit | 255 | X |
| Speed | ⬆︎ | ⬇︎ |
| Security | ⬇︎ | ⬆︎ |
Confirmation by using Wireshark
- GET method
- POST method
