Ser aficionado a la fotografía y tener mascota, aparentemente es bastante favorable, se ven tan fotogénicos en tantas ocasiones que deseamos, no se nos pase la oportunidad de retratarlos, sin embargo, no siempre se consiguen buenos resultados a pesar de la disposición que tenemos para ello. Para ser honesto, me ha costado mucho sacar buenas fotos a mi animal de compañía, y no porque sean feos, sino que con su inquietud es complejo descubrir su lado más favorable. He probado tanto con mi cámara como con mi teléfono, y lo seguiré intentando hasta lograr hacer fotos impresionantes de mascotas.
Being fond of photography and having a pet, apparently is quite favorable, they look so photogenic in so many occasions that we wish, we do not miss the opportunity to portray them, however, we do not always get good results despite the willingness we have for it. To be honest, I have had a hard time taking good pictures of my animal companion, and not because they are ugly, but because with their restlessness it is complex to discover their most favorable side. I've tried with both my camera and my phone, and I'll keep trying until I manage to take impressive pet photos.
Dado que dispongo del modelo en buena cantidad de tiempo, intento volver con frecuencia a la práctica cada cierto para ir mejorando el estilo y la técnica. Para muchos fotógrafos esta es una práctica muy lucrativa y rentable, se les da bien, y me parece prefecto, imagino que llevan muchos disparos de práctica para lograr inmortalizar el recuerdo de las mascotas familiares. No conozco el mercadeo para ello, pero estoy convencido de que si existen muchos fotógrafos que realizan esta práctica; el mercado existe, evidentemente, una familia que posee mascota, siempre tratará al animal como un miembro más del hogar.
Since I have a good amount of time with the model, I try to return to the practice every so often to improve my style and technique. For many photographers this is a very lucrative and profitable practice, it seems to me well, and I seem to prefect, I imagine that take many practice shots to achieve immortalize the memory of family pets. I do not know the marketing for it, but I'm convinced that if there are many photographers who perform this practice; the market exists, evidently, a family owned pet, always treat the animal as a member more home.
Claro está, que no es igual fotografiar a tu mascota en un estudio que en la comodidad del hogar; como aficionado sabemos que estas fotos que presento son por mero placer y a modo de estudio. No me complico mucho, pero trato en lo posible de hacer las fotos dando todo mi potencial para buscar obtener los mejores resultados posibles. Cuando se trata de gatos, siento que es más complejo, sobre todo cuando son jóvenes, son extremadamente inquietos y escurridizos. Por lo regular uso la cámara en modo manual, en esta ocasión usé un lente 50mm, en antiguas oportunidades he usado un 55-250mm; probando para buscar diferentes resultados e ir entendiendo esta práctica.
Of course, it is not the same to photograph your pet in a studio than in the comfort of your home; as an amateur we know that these photos I present are for mere pleasure and as a studio. I don't complicate myself too much, but I try as much as possible to take the photos giving all my potential to get the best possible results. When it comes to cats, I feel it is more complex, especially when they are young, they are extremely restless and elusive. I usually use the camera in manual mode, this time I used a 50mm lens, in other occasions I have used a 55-250mm; trying to find different results and understanding this practice.
En ninguna de las fotografías he usado kit de iluminación ni nada por el estilo, ha sido todo muy espontáneo aprovechando la luz natural de los lugares. Los ajustes de la cámara son muy aleatorios, ya que, cuando veo una oportunidad favorable para captar una buena foto, salgo por la cámara y me olvido de lo técnico y solo voy por el momento para que no se diluya. Mi preocupación principal es que le entre buena cantidad de luz a la cámara y del resto me inclino más por la composición, buscando encuadres interesantes y que llamen mi atención. En ocasiones, la composición ayuda mucho a que una foto se vea atractiva y desvía la atención de algún detalle técnico, claro, no en todos los casos.
In none of the photographs I have used lighting kit or anything like that, it has all been very spontaneous taking advantage of the natural light of the places. The camera settings are very random, since, when I see a favorable opportunity to capture a good photo, I go for the camera and forget about the technical stuff and just go for the moment so it doesn't fade away. My main concern is to get the right amount of light into the camera, and the rest is more about composition, looking for interesting framing that catches my attention. Sometimes, the composition helps a lot to make a photo look attractive and diverts the attention from some technical detail, of course, not in all cases.
