I was scrolling through my steemit feed, checking out different posts. I came across @janton’s post from today. Towards the end, he mentioned women carrying down in Texas, and I was reminded that I hadn’t shot my ccp for quite some time.
We already had plans to visit my parents today, so I thought, “Why not do some target practicing?” I brought my ccp, which is always with me anyways, and the Big Man brought an assortment of his to shoot.
Shooting from 15 yards away. Can you spot the case ejecting?
I thought this was a neat shot. The Big Man was able to capture the muzzle flash.
I immediately thought back to a poem by @dennyducet. A cursed little case indeed!
Maybe not the best choice. That thing gave a bright flash, lots of smoke, and a loud bang, even for wearing ear protection. I may have let out a couple of yelps. To say I was intimidated to fire the gun was a bit of a understatement.
But first.. pose for a (photo)shot! I had no idea what I was doing, so I made sure the Big Man had me posing somewhat decent, as to not look like an idiot.
Once I was instructed on how to stand, aim, and fire, I was ready to fire! It actually wasn’t that bad! The bang still made me wince each time, but I hit almost every shot. Ok, we were standing rather close to the target, too, so that may have helped. Have to start somewhere to get your confidence up. One downside I didn’t like was the weight of it. My arms tired quickly.
For anyone out there that may be intimidated or scared of firearms, I highly suggest finding a class or someone experienced to help you try them out for yourself. You may find they aren’t so scary after all. You may even find that you enjoy the sport!
That’s all for today. Do you target practice? What kind of firearms do you like best and why? Let me know below!
