Today we read about an interesting person called Enoch who only lived a short while on earth comparatively. He had lived 65 years before fathering a son called Methuselah, then other sons and daughters.
He was living a normal life until the age of three hundred and sixty five years old, when suddenly - ve-eneh-nu - he was not there, because God took him. To take, lah-kach followed by ot-oh which means "him".
The verses for today state twice that Enoch walked about with God before telling us that he was taken.
There are other places throughout the Tanakh where people are taken up and also prophecies that it will happen again. He will come and ah-s'fay-nu or take us up.
Stay with me here! The dry part is almost done, and the story of Noah is just around the corner. You should be seeing simple numbers in each text we read - below is the reading, followed by our first ten numbers which help us differentiate (f) or (m) for people and things.

If you are just starting, my lessons are all here starting at Alef, adding vowels (the dots and lines) as we go, the sofit formations and numerical values. Just go to my blog and scroll to the bottom or click here
