This painting was recently gifted so I am able to share it with you all.

I have to admit this one was a serious challenge for me. I’ve only been doing this “prophetic art” thing for a whopping two months or so, and during my prayer time I felt God tell me He wanted me to paint this. The recipient, however, is blind from a medical condition that developed during her childhood. I fought God on it tooth and nail. You want me to do WHAT?! I asked Him over and over. I didn’t want to put myself out there. Giving a piece of artwork — visual art — to a blind person seemed, well, LUDICROUS. You’ve got to be kidding me.... really, God?!

Oh, He was serious. It’s hard to convey the amount and types of confirmation I got with this project... But there was no doubt about what He wanted.

As a Christian, it’s my duty to be obedient to my God’s wishes. So I started sketching and painting.

An interesting note: I struggle with likenesses. I have just never quite had the portrait-artist’s knack for capturing someone’s essence... and yet this painting turned out very spot on. I know it’s because Jesus was helping me, because all I had to work from was one very dark, pixelated, and blurry image of her face and my own sketchy memory of her from church, and yet, the features are right. It never ceases to amaze me what the Holy Spirit can do with willing hands.

Other interesting bits: do you see the lion? (Upper left corner, in profile...) I am discovering that part of my gifting is that things appear in my work that I never intended on being there. I never intended to paint the Lion of Judah in this work, and yet there He is! Other viewers have reported seeing another lion (facing the viewer), a girl reading a book, a sword, and a few angels hidden throughout.

The recipient was thrilled, and very encouraged. A few of us gathered to pray over her, and bless her with healing. It was very emotionally moving, and this I am certain: God’s not done yet. This young woman’s testimony is going to be incredible!
