I am really happy with my latest project: a sketchbook “quiver” for my pen and water brushes. I got the idea from an Amazon ad that came in my email, and even though the one shown was made from leather, I had the idea that I could make it myself out of fabric (and use up some of my scrap pile in the process!). I think it turned out beautifully.
The design was so simple, it was awesome. I started with a flat piece of fabric, hemmed on all sides. I got another, smaller, flat piece of fabric, hemmed the edges, and stitched it down to the first, roughly halfway down the first piece. Ran some straight stitches for multiple pen and brush pockets (it’s pictured with just one pocket filled, but there are five slots that go all around the spine of the sketchbook). Stitched on some elastic to hold it to the sketchbook... et voila! A home-made pen quiver. 🤗🖋
Now I don’t have to spend so much time digging in my purse or hunting down a pen when I want to draw — they’re all right there, regardless of where I am.
