In the scandal that now dominates the front pages of the media, the information that the government itself manifests without any shame, it is said that last year nothing more and nothing less than 3 billion dollars were stolen from PDVSA. But, in addition, counting the last three years, the company has "stopped collecting" an amount close to 22.2 billion dollars. As if it were a neighborhood bodeguita.

And just as the scandal began, one of the most visible plug-ins of the regime issued a comment through the media saying that the recent looting of PDVSA could exceed 25 billion greens. Then, the next day, the same subject came out speaking to the media saying that he had made a "lapse" and that he had been wrong. It must be that they scolded him for telling the truth.

The truth of the matter is that the citizens below have no idea how much was stolen, but what we are sure of is that it was a lot and that they are not going to return it.

Corruption is a method of governing at the convenience of minorities of irregular groups in many countries on the planet, since the highest officials and their puppets sustain themselves at the expense of filthy businesses where the biggest loser is the people: the vast majority, the citizens on foot.

At the cost of administrative corruption nothing works well. Public money destined for the most basic services such as health, education, drinking water, electricity, telecommunications and etc., go down green paths. A good part of that money sometimes does not reach its destination, or, failing that, what does arrive is not enough for the proper functioning of said services.

The problem is complicated when the state acts as the owner of the most important companies, as it happens in Venezuela. This ratifies without a doubt that, when governments take over the most emblematic businesses of a nation, what is inescapably expected is failure or total bankruptcy. Even more so when from high places, illegally, it is ordered that the transactions be secret and that the audits are conspicuous by their absence.

It will dawn and we will see, but Venezuela, as long as its institutions remain kidnapped, will continue on the same course of looting and the constant misery of its inhabitants.
