Change can be good change can be bad, but it's never wrong to break through patterns when you are stuck in (something that doesn't make you happy).
A good example of this well-written statement by @cinetv 's Twitter handle can be attributed to the movie THE RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
Where the man character Caesar who is a monkey begins to live with a scientist, shortly have after his mother was killed in an experimental laboratory commotion.
Before Caesar was born, his mother was an experimental monkey, used by scientists to test their unstable drugs or formula.
So Caesar grew up with this scientist guy who was the man in charge of the experiments, but it turns out that he was not an actual evil person he just wanted to find a cure to his father's disease.
The scientist ends up taking care of Caesar watching him grow up, monitoring his vitals, and teaching him table manners.
As Caesar grew he exhibit an astonishing increase in intellect, his reasoning became higher than that of a normal primate, he became smart and wiser at that causing the scientist guy to realize that the drugs he used on Caesar's mother must have been passed down to him.
Believing he had reached a breakthrough in his experiment, he quick tested the drug on his father whose mind and health status seemed to be degrading faster than normal.
And just like magic, his father's health was stabilized, and even improved beyond normal, while his success was sure, it was short-lived as the disease cells in his father's body figured out a way to fight the cure, reverting him to his previous Condition and even worse.
Following the return of his mental situation, the scientist's father gets involved in a bitter quarrel with his neighbor, who thought he was about to steal his car, so the neighbor called the police.
Caesar who was watching from his room saw all this and was filled with rage, so he ran out and attacked his neighbor, eventually biting his finger off, and all this happened before the police arrived on the scene.
Caesar was eventually sent to monkey prison, well that's what I'd like to call it because it was no different from a regular prison as there was the bully picking on the new guy, and exercising his authority and reign in that prison, also there was the wicked warden who maltreated the inmate ( although it's not a prison, but a safe house ore space for Apes )
When the scientist guy, finally returns to take Caesar home, Caesar then realizes that he doesn't want to be treated like a pet anymore but as an equal so he denies the offer and stays back, and to be honest Caesar does have a god mode I.Q level.
So in the End Caesar staged a Monkey riot/ jailbreaking and a complete escape into the wild with his fellow Ape Comrades who now worship him as a god.
Break down
You may be wondering how does this movie teach about change and breaking a wrong pattern ??.
Okay lemme explain, the Ape, Caesar, grew up without seeing his mother and without interacting with other primates of his kind, and he was treated like a pet almost the who time, with a dog leash around his neck whenever he goes out with the scientist guy. He finally got tired of being treated as a pet but stilled loved the scientist guy who took care and raised him as a child. So he stood up to the man who raised him with love and care, telling him(scientist) that's it time for him (Caesar) to return to his true home (the wild).
It's basically like me standing up to my parents with love, and deciding to take control of my life and this movie helped me do that.
Finally, this movie is a 2011 must-watch, and if you haven't watched it yet, I'm looking at you @cinetv...grab some popcorn, dim the lights and explore with Caesar.
