A Muska flip was coined by late 90's pro Chad Muska. Instead of skate catching the board the "proper way" i.e., flipping it and catching at 90 degrees then rotating the rest of the way. He would let the board go in between his legs and do sort of a illusion flip.
Video below of Jimmy Carlin is a good example of a "Muska Flip".
