It's been over a year plus for me on hive and if there's anything I've learned so far, it's that a large percentage of socialization of users on hive can equally be found on their various discord channels.
If you didn't know better, you'd think we come on hive to share posts and go on discord to actually socialize. (I know a few exceptions to this though, 
I don't know why discord, but it seems there's an unanimous agreement that if you're on the blockchain, use of discord is almost as important as using any of the hive frontend.
Infact there's lot of information from different users that you'd sometimes find on the discord chat rooms that they didn't warrant important to share here on the blockchain.
I've met quite a lot of people because of hive whom ordinarily our paths would never have crossed, for this I think hive is living up to expectations as a social blockchain.
Yes many users are focused on stacking more tokens, but many are equally having fun while doing it. One focus doesn't affect the other, in fact it could be said that more engagement with others could equally open them to looking at the contents you share as well.
The Key word here is Engagement
I would propose a virtual engagement every weekend for hivers using discord. For this, we would employ a strategy which I've seen used to pair different users in some team contests here on hive.
Firstly interested participants would have to drop their usernames and then the community admins would randomly pair people together in teams of four(you can do this by simply shuffling the names and whoever they fall with becomes their team for the weekend).
All they've got to do is hang out together for at least thirty minutes using the voice channels on discord. The goal is to get as many people as possible on the community to get to know and interact with each other.
I've met some users here on hive who we were coincidentally tag teamed together and today, I've come to enjoy the quality content they share.
