Este fin de semana estuve trabajando nuevamente con billetes para reciclar, y con estos creé esta linda cajita circular para guardar mis hilos de coser. Cómo saben, también soy costurera y siempre tengo las bobinas de hilos por cualquier lado. Esta caja me ayudará a tenerlas en un solo lugar.

This weekend I was working again with recycle bills, and with them I created this cute little circular box to store my sewing threads. As you know, I'm also a seamstress and I always have spools of thread lying around. This box will help me keep them in one place.

Primera parte: Tapa.

Para la tapa hacemos una circunferencia en un cartón de la medida de su preferencia. En mi caso, la hice de 20 cm. En el otro cartón hacemos otra circunferencia que será nuestra base, esta la reducirán 2cm menos. Lo que significa que quedara de 18cm. Procedemos a recortarla y nos quedarán así.

First part: Cover.

For the lid we make a circumference in a cardboard of the size of your preference. In my case, I made it of 20 cm. In the other cardboard we make another circumference that will be our base, this will be reduced by 2cm less. This means that it will be 18cm. We proceed to cut it and we will be like this.

Luego empezamos la tapa y su diseño. Para está utilicé unos billetes doblados, de forma que me quedara una figura de estrella de nueve puntas. Con silicón cerramos las solapas dobladas y luego las pegamos en el cartón intentando que todo quede centrado.

Then we start the lid and its design. For this one I used some folded bills, so that I had a nine-pointed star shape. With silicone we close the folded flaps and then glue them on the cardboard, trying to keep everything centered.

El sobrante de papel que nos quede fuera del cartón lo pegamos hacía adentro.

The leftover paper that remains outside the cardboard is glued inside.

Una vez pegado, debemos finalizar los detalles de la tapa. Para esto cortamos varias tiras de billetes y hacemos pequeños triángulos para colocar en las partes donde aún se ve el cartón. También, usando el cordón de una pulsera vieja, lo pasamos desde el interior de la tapa y le hacemos un nudo por ambos extremos para que sirva de asa.

Once glued, we must finish the details of the cover. To do this, we cut several strips of paper money and make small triangles to place in the parts where the cardboard is still visible. Also, using the string from an old bracelet, we pass it from the inside of the lid and tie a knot at both ends to serve as a handle.

Con los triángulos pequeños, los iremos pegando uno a uno en los espacios de cartón que queda descubierto.

With the small triangles, we will glue them one by one in the cardboard spaces that are left uncovered.

La parte de adentro la cubrimos también con billetes.

We also cover the inside with banknotes.

Luego, empezamos a hacer tubitos con billetes. Estos tubitos deben ser pequeños, por lo cual hice cintas pequeñas para estos. Para reforzarlos, los pegaremos en una cinta del mismo alto. Nos debe quedar una cinta larga que cubra la circunferencia de la tapa.

Then, we start making little tubes with bills. These tubes should be small, so I made small ribbons for them. To reinforce them, we glue them on a ribbon of the same height. We should have a long ribbon that covers the circumference of the lid.

Para finalizar pegamos la cinta de tubitos alrededor de la tapa.

Finally, we glue the ribbon around the lid.

Segunda parte: Base.

Para la base, usaremos la circunferencia más pequeña. Esta la cubriremos con billetes.

Una vez que esté todo pegado, procederemos a hace tubitos a la altura del billete. Con una cantidad adecuada ya lista, pegaremos los tubitos en otra cinta.

Second part: Base.

For the base, we will use the smaller circumference. We will cover it with banknotes.

Once everything is glued, we will proceed to make small tubes at the height of the banknote. With an adequate amount ready, we will glue the tubes on another ribbon.

Cuando todos estén ya pegados a la cinta, pegaremos la cinta alrededor de la base desde adentro. Esperamos que seque bien y nos quedará lista.

When they are all glued to the tape, we will glue the tape around the base from the inside. We wait for it to dry well and it will be ready.

Opcionalmente, pegaremos un cordón en la orilla de la tapa para darle un mejor detalle.

Optionally, we will glue a string around the edge of the lid to give it a better detail.

Y listo, después de esto tendremos nuestra caja ya lista.
