Never had a bird swoop over my head before. These small birds called Rens build a nest in this miniature guitar we mounted to the side of the shed. The made a nest last year but never stayed in it. This year they stayed in the nest and now there are baby birds in there!
They never bothered me or squawked at me much before. I think it's 'cause the baby birds are getting bigger now. The Rens go inside the guitar to feed the birds whole insects! It's neat to watch them but now I know to keep my distance. When I walked past the nest the small bird swooped right over my head!! I felt the air as it went over from this bird!! The next time I walked by it swooped down and actually made contact with my head as it did!! Wow.
I hope the baby birds get out there sometime soon. Must make sure the local cats don't get them. I made the neighbour put a bird bell on his cats. I'm really happy these birds nested here! It's been fun watching them. I'm glad the plants in the yard are maturing and we are attracting more birds. It's real neat!
