Elon Musk said that the purpose of SpaceX is to help humans to Mars. They make rockets, landers and equipment to support it. Musk wants to build a colony of Mars occupied by 80,000 people. Which is a good choice, probably like the 2nd habitable place in our solar system. Real estate should be reasonably priced, but this trip is a bit expensive.
