There was this guy who once lived in my city (New Delhi). His name is not important for our discussion but rather what we can learn from him. Sometimes to accomplish something great, a dash of madness is needed along with courage.

This dude was a controversial figure of his times (he died in the 40’s). People used to come to him and complain about the fact that he focused too much on his job. He considered his job to be the most important in this world and the argument was that he should also be able to give consideration to other things that were being done in the society.

Now the thing is that men and women who lose themselves (and I mean truly lose themselves) in what they love, rarely have the time to defend their actions. I guess that they probably think it as a distraction from their work. Why waste time defending something when you can use that time to invest yourself in what you love?

So a guy who was a close ally of his defended him. He explained that to accomplish what he wants, this man has decided to give it his all and for this reason he was unconcerned about the critics. Thus he has chosen such friends with common goals that would be the ones to defend him instead.

This story is not about becoming a zealot or losing sight of things that are important to others. Instead the lesson that I took from this was - focused effort can accomplish a lifetimes work in a much shorter time and perhaps this is something that we Steemians need to think about.

We need to decide for ourselves if we want to be a mere Steem ‘user’ or do we want to advance and become a ‘super user’.

PS: it may be off topic but the word is that Binance will do system upgrade and will be down for eight hours beginning from 8AM of 12th March (UTC)
