You might remember the Audi rally car that I made - it was set 76897 which is a speed champions set - if not you can read about it here well one of the things I really love about Lego is the ability to re-build sets into whatever you want to build them into

And I looked at the car, and first I thought, hmm maybe that wants to be a F1 car (I'll write a post about that soon) and then I thought, no a truck, or more correctly a truck cab.

One of the biggest challenges with these types of builds is that the speed champions range relies on a lot of stickers to get the original car to work, so when you rebuild some parts have limited becuase the stickers only make sense one way - but I think the subtle front windscreen decal, the audi team at the rear and the racing number all work (although why a truck has a racing number is anyone's guess.

I'm really quite happy with this overall, I think the proportions work, the big glass front feel lifelike, although I would have liked the grill to be a bit bigger, the levers at the side clearly control something, becuase trucks have those don't they, and then I managed to find a plaid shirted, beared cap wearing driver which seemed more loigical than the racing driver.

And then of course I had to take the whole thing apart, make the cad drawings and instructions and rebuild it - so if you own the Audi Rally car set and you want to make this truck you can - instructions are on Rebrickable
