Great thinking here! "Do unto others..." has intrigued me for years. One thought to take into account, though, is there is such a thing as a rebuke. It is an honor to be rebuked by someone setting you straight. So, if I were acting as evil as some people are, I would want a sensible and righteous man to rebuke me in an effective way. That might look like revenge or punishment, but it fits the "Do unto others" philosophy.

Congress last session banned minority member from committees without due process. If I were that stupid, I would want the opposition to give me a taste of my own medicine in the next session they control.
