escription : Panhala fort in Kolhapur is amongst one of the major forts in India. It was known by many names such as Panhalgad, Pahalla and Panalla. All these names mean “house of snakes.” This castle has a great historic significance amongst the people of Maharashtra. It was also ruled by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
