The air data computer (ADC) is an important avionics component found in modern glass cockpit. This computer, not an individual instrument, can specify calibrated airspeed, Mach level data, altitude, and altitude of the aircraft pitot-static system. The first patented US air data computer, the aerial data computer usually also has a total air temperature input. This allows the calculation of static air temperature and actual air velocity.
