Quackie quackie, Steemians! Tasteemians!
Today, I'm at Shangri-la's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, in its authentic Chinese restaurant called Shang Palace.
The most palatable Chinese cuisine for me is the Beijing Duck or Peking Duck.
The duck was roasted inside a vertical roaster, after being cleaned and air dried. When served, a chef would follow and present us the roasted duck, would also give us a live show of slicing the crispy skin.
HOW TO EAT THE SLICED CRISPY SKIN DUCK
- take a spring roll skin
- place a slice of duck meat on top
- place a stem of spring onion
- use a teaspoon to take some roasters gravy which was dripped from roasted duck.
- roll the spring roll over all ingredients and eat altogether in one bite
Oh so delicious! The taste was so ducky, crispy, freshness of green and the roasted gravy combined was sweet at the same time. Out of this world. The best way to dine duck meat.
After the roasted duck was skin-sliced, the remaining meat would be cooked in two ways.
- Ginger and Onion Stir Fry with Duck and Veggie
- Salted Preserved Vegetables Soup with Duck meat
We also had steamed prawns, which brought us to seafood haven. Simple but the original taste was conserved.
We had a wonderful dinner and before we left, we had group photo.
