National Covid Task Force sees Mucormycosis as public health concern, asks to prioritise young patients treatment

The National COVID Task Force has asked states to prioritise young patients for giving antifungal drug Amphotericin B for treatment of Mucormycosis, also known as Black fungus. The Task Force has identified Mucormycosis as a public health concern. "Management of mucormycosis should start with surgical debridement leaving clean margins, control of blood sugar levels," an advisory by the task force said.
