Yes, as a new-ish /2-3 months/ I have started to invest in buying some cards mainly for water/death splinters, as I see them to be strongest in silver. I am trying to rent my way to gold III for the sake of rewards, as I think with the inclusion of packs in the reward chests it might be worth it if I get a bit lucky. As of now I have level 2 Kelya and Thaddius and am hoping in the coming 1-2 months to get to spare some money for a level 2 Quix and perhaps a level 3 Kelya if prices go down some more.
